MBA: MUGGING UP BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR MASTERING IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

First of all, congratulations to you for passing the hectic entrance exam and getting through MBA course. Now, you will get to know about different theories and concepts related to management and marketing. You will also get a chance to undertake an internship at the end of the course.
However, have you ever thought what is this management course all about?
Is it just like another study course?
Do you have to sit with your books the whole day?
Is the art of mugging up given more importance???
The answer to all these question is:
NO
To simply state, MBA courses help students to attain mastery over business administration. It helps the students like you gain a thorough knowledge as to how to administer a business in the current business scenario. Thus, you can say that MBA is all about MANAGEMENT!!! Not only studying about management but also knowing how to manage!
Apart from knowing the head bombing theories under management, you also should remember few other things. Along with judging your theoretical knowledge, the supervisors evaluate few other aspects in you also
1)Time Management Skills: Your supervisors want to judge your time management skills. Hence, you may often find burdening you people with too many assignments and projects. You often feel the work pressure of completing it within strict deadline and every time wished that you have had got little more time!!! Whole year you are bombarded with numerous assignments! You may also feel sometimes how cruel they are? But….. The actual reason is that they want to see how do you manage it? In future when you may have to work in contingent situations or in strict deadlines. At that time, you should be well-prepared to apply your time management skills. You should never come up with any sort of excuses!!!
2) Management Skills:Surely you have to do a number of assignments and each of them has a stipulated word count to be met. Remember you cannot exceed the word count more than 10%. Nor can you submit less word count. Do you not think this to be a perfect benchmark for judging your management skills??? Sometimes you do not get sufficient materials… so you wish that the word count could have been less! Other times, you found so much materials that you wish you are given the permission to write pages after pages!!! However, that is where you have to show your management skill of handling the word count
3). Analytical Skills: Have you ever thought why do the supervisors give assignments to prepare? What do they want? Do they want you to write pages after pages???
The answer is
NO.
They want to judge your analytical skills. They do not want descriptive writing. They want to see how well you are able to apply the theoretical knowledge in practical situations. This is the reason they want you to analyse different business-oriented situations and give real life examples. REMEMBER when you go to seek jobs nobody will ask you to blurt out Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs but the HR manager may present a real life employee motivation related problem that is existing in the company and ask you to analyse the situation and recommend ways of improvisation.
4) Communication and Presentation Skills: Frequent class seminars and discussion help you not only to brush your theoretical knowledge but also enhance your communication skills. It gives you confidence to speak in front of an audience. You never when you have to use your communication skills in your professional life. You need to have a well-polished and fluent communication skill, thereby having good command over English

Thus, now hopefully you understand that, MBA is NOT only about studies but also of APPLICATION OF THE KNOWLEDGE!! In fact, it leads to your personal and professional development! So best of luck!
