CORRECTION: REWORK OR REDO????

Hey guys after the whole week’s toil and taking the pain of doing the assignment, it really feels bad when the professor strikes through some of the areas and sends back for correction!!! You really feel demoralised and sad, feeling soooo low!!! You really do not understand what went wrong?? Why is it that your friend has got more marks?
Heyyyy it is ok! Do not panic next time when you get an amendment work because here you will find some of the best ways to handle it:
1) Stay Cool- You can never do any work properly if you do not have a stable state of mind! So no point to panic, Stay Cool! Have a cup of coffee and GET SET GO!
2) Concentrate on the comments: Go through the Professor’s comments thoroughly. See what he is asking exactly? Where are the areas that you have fallen short? Where to improve? What to add? Unless you identify these things clearly there is no point in starting the amendments.
3) Identify a rework or redo: DO NOT panic when your supervisor sends back your work! Please note à you need to clearly understand whether your supervisor wants a rework (make few amendments in certain sections) or a redo (entire change). A rework is needed when you need to improvise on certain section whereas a redo is required when you have failed to meet any of the assessment criteria and the assignment went wrong.
4) Plan the work: You need to work as per the professor’s feedback. You need to see which sections require the change. DO NOT JUST STARTING DOING IT! See whether you have sufficient material to do the correction or else do some more research.
5) Plan the word count: Based on the nature of the amendment (rework or redo), you need to plan how many words are to be changed. Do not just keep on writing and writing. As I have also stated, you should see whether it is a redo or rework.
1 more thing!!! When you are adding material, make sure that you are also deleting some words from the sections which are irrelevant. REMEMBER! The total word count should remain the same as it was in the earlier stage! In the hurry, please DO NOT forget to check the word count before submission.
6) Enhance evaluation:
Since most of the corrections demand proper evaluation, therefore try to concentrate on it! DO NOT make the work Descriptive! Try to find specific information about the concerned industry or companies. Use accurate facts and statistics, be argumentative and evaluative! REMEMBER the content should not be written only for the sake of clearing the rework!!!
7) Additional Referencing:
When you have done the amendments, make sure to add few references in the list. It is obvious that, if you are adding some content in the assignment, you are referring to an academic book/journal/website. Mention it in the list. Hey one more thing! Surely put in-texts in the newly added content to maintain its authenticity. Also do not forget to check the referencing format once more before submitting. Do not mix APA with HARVARD style or vice-versa.
8) Update TOC: Once the amendments are done, make sure that you update the table of contents (TOC), list of tables and list of figures. You know why??? This is because when you have added or deleted any heading or subheadings, it should be updated in the TOC. The old TOC will not have the changes. Hey! 1 more thing. If you are adding or deleting words, DO NOT forget to update TOC because it needs changes in the pages numbers.
9) Use Red Ink: Go to Home Page --> Select [A] option --> Choose Red Ink. You know why I am asking you to do the amendment in red ink? It is because to help you as well as the professor to understand where the necessary changes are done and how many words are invested to do it. It clearly distinguishes the previous work with the present.

10) No Silly Mistakes: One special instruction! DO NOT REPEAT any SILLY MISTAKE! Since your professor is a bit dissatisfied with your work, therefore please do not leave any scope for complaint this time… Thoroughly PROOFREAD and check your work. NO typo error, spelling error or grammatical error!!!
